Claudio Malacarne was born in Mantua in 1956 and from a young age he developed a strong passion for drawing, which became his privileged field of research and reflection. After experimenting with various techniques, he began painting in the 80s, influenced by masters such as Gauguin, Van Gogh and Matisse, with a particular attention to light and color. His works explore the relationship between reality and image, mixing the figure and nature in compositions full of existential moods. Throughout his career, Malacarne addresses the theme of water and human bodies immersed in it, as a metaphor for a reflection on the human condition. His language is marked by a tension between an intellectual world and an emotional and sensorial flow.
